| Category: Landscape with water I put this picture in the competition to tease the judge who holds an Order of Australia Medal for his services to photography. He has told us on previous occasions that Landscape scenes should not show the "hand of man", for example, a roadway, fence, stone wall. So I entered a picture of my husband's hand behind a fence! |
Beautiful Bunya Pines at the Bunya Mountains, Queensland. It is a hazardous occupation taking photos under these trees in autumn when the nuts which can weight 6kgs fall to the ground.
Again, I teased the judge by placing an entry with the beautiful woman in the foreground. This time, "the hand of man" took the female form! The males in the audience didn't mind!

| Category: Sunrise/Sunset (1st place) In the twelve categories, I received overall 2nd place with this picture.
The judge spoke at length about this photo. He said he had never seen an entry before that he could ever remember depicting "sunrise" in this way as they generally depict a fiery or misty sky.
This photo was taken in emergency accommodation provided by Red Cross, at yet another Queensland hospital as I faced another day at yet another hospital. My very ill grandchild was taken to Nambour hospital while on holidays at Caloundra. He has had many life threatening situations over the past eighteen months.
God is my/our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble, therefore I/we shall not fear. Psalm 46:1 |
